Govt. College for Women, Guntur formerly known as "Lady Hope College" came into existence in 1944 under the management of Guntur Municipality. This college was established with the aim of providing Higher education for women in general and particularly to those living in Guntur and surrounding districts. This college brought hope and joy into the hearts of millions of ladies all over the state.

Lady Irwin College is a constituent college for women, in University of Delhi, under the memorandum of Association of The Lady Irwin College Society vide Regd. Society Registration Act 1860 (Punjab Amdmt.) 1957 Registration No.4163 1969-70) & maintained by the Governing Body & UGC Grants.

Bhagini Nivedita College (BNC) is a constituent college of University of Delhi. It was established by the then Delhi Administration in August, 1993 as a girls college; in the rural and semi-urban outskirts of South West Delhi. It is now funded and supported by the Government of Delhi.

Vimala College (Autonomous), a first grade women's college under the CMC Management, was established in 1967 in Thrissur District, Kerala.Ever since its inception, the college has been in the fore-front of higher education in the state.

St. Joseph's College for women caters to around 1200 students with the support of about 70 teaching staff and 30 non teaching staff. Among the teaching staff, about 40% have PhD and most of the rest have M. Phil. as their highest degree while several are engaged in the process of obtaining their decorate. Several members of the staff are engaged in externally funded research projects.

The Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (S.N.D.P) Yogam in 1946 resolved to establish a college at Kollam in obeisance to the great saint, philosopher and social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, to provide better higher educational facilities, mainly for the backward classes of Kerala. The resolution came true when the Sree Narayana College was opened in 1948 as a mixed college.
