The K V M College of Special Education is an organization under the K V M Trust, and is recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi. The College was established in 2001.

Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara was founded in 1960 in memory of the Rev. Joseph Peet, who was one of the missionaries, sent by the Church Mission Society to South India. He came to Mavelikara in 1836.
