St Mary’s Women’s College for Teacher Education is a prestigious institution of St Mary’s Educational and Cultural Society. The Society is registered under the Travancore Cochin Literacy, Scientific and Charitable Society Act XII in 1974 and has a remarkable history of establishing about 12 distinguished educational institutions in South India.

The College is run by the Mar Thoma Syrian Church and is dedicated to the revered memory of His Grace the Most Rev. Titus II, who was Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church from 1898 to 1944. This was a period of outstanding developments in the history of the Mar Thoma Church. His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Juhanon Mar Thoma Metropolitan was the founder of this College.

The H.H. Marthoma Mathews II Training College was established in 2005 . The St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School is the model school that provides teaching practice to the students of this college.
