An immunologist is a person who is specialized doctor who is trained in problems related to the immune system. Other doctors refer to the immunologists if they suspect for a problem with the immune system of the person. Immunology is defined as the study of a body’s defense against virus, bacteria and other parasites. They work with patients as well as research where their contribution in human immunology is necessary.

An immunologist diagnose and treat immune system disorders like severe allergies, asthma, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. Some devote their time to researches finding out the best breakthroughs of history. Clinical immunologists work with patients directly, diagnosing and treating people with immune system disorders and developing new test methods. Some specialize in preventing rejections of organ transplants.
The student must pass 12th std with major subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology to write the NEET exam (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). NEET exam will determine the eligibility of a person to pursue MBBS course.
Step 1 Enroll for MBBS course in a recognized Medical college after passing NEET medical entrance exam.
Step 2 After finishing the course , pass the NEET PG medical entrance for Immunology
Step 3 Complete the three years long MD Course in Immunology
Step 4 After completing MD you will have to pursue 3 years long DM in Immunology course. After which you will become Immunologist.
An immunologist can take up research .They can go for clinical practice and help people who have allergic diseases, diseases that affect the respiratory tract, allergic conditions, and unusual reactions .An immunologist can also pursue the profession of being a professor in medical schools.
The remuneration can range anewhere range between Rs 25,000-Rs 30,000.Doctors will get special packages in proportional with their expertise.
